Brief Summary of the Race Results.
11 teams in various categories raced at Deccan Cliffhanger 2019. All finished successfully within their respective time limits. Team Axis 4 Men 35-49 age Akkshay Joshi, Ajit Kulkarni, Rahul Meher, Vijay Phalke, was the fastest to the finish with a timing of 23hrs and 49mins. Team E=MV2 2 Men 35-49 Venkatanarayanan S, Vikas Namdeo were the next to finish in 24hrs 55mins. Team Funtastic Couple 2 person Mixed over 50 Maithili Jog and Mahesh Jog finished in 31hrs 12mins.
In the Solo Category, a total of 36 participants started with 8 racers withdrawing from the race, 14 finishing in Inspire India time, 1 finishing late, and 13 finishing the race in RAAM qualification time. In the men above 50 Dashrath Jadhav won the race in his age group, just ahead of 3 time winner Anand Patil. In the women’s Neha Tikam won the race in 34hrs and 7mins followed immediately after by Swati Sablok in 34hrs 13mins. Rajlaxmi Teli finished in over 41 hours after a long struggle but with a determination to finish the course. Priyanka Pawar sadly missed a control point and was Dnfed.
Of the Solo Men in 18-49 age group, 3 time DC finisher, Solo Raam finisher Kabir Rachure finished first in 24hrs 42mins, 3 time DC podium winner Chaitanya Velhal finished second in 25hrs 24mins and rookie attempt by Kapil Sharma was a great success as he won third place finishing in 28hrs. The racers who qualified for RAAM include in order of finish Naveen Solanki, Sasikanth Pvr, Sushant Bodas, Sundaram Narayanan, Aliasgar Patrawala, Saurabh Kapur, Nikhilesh Kale and Sunny Ferns.
Racers who finished within Inspire India time of 38 hrs includes Dhanraj Helambe, Rahul Zanjurne, Devanand Meshram, Anmol Prabhu, Kishan PKV, Varun Dhiman (the youngest at 19yrs), Inderjitsingh Khamba, Shine Koyyakande, Yogesh Gaikwad, Govind Rangwal, Sumit Patil and Suhas Londhe.
Race Director Divya Tate and her team of officials are grateful that the race finished safely, without major mishaps.
